The sun, for 24 hours

The tower keep. School is literally 5 feet out of this shot to the right.

Our studios

So it turns out, Ireland is far enough north that it has many more hours of light than we do. Our group was just out walking until 11 when it was just getting dark enough for streetlights to be on. Pretty crazy. Anyway, today was our first day of class so we had a welcome from the dean and a grounds tour. It is just awesome. There is a castle (one tower) and….it just fits with the landscape perfectly. Our first art history class was great, the professor seems cool and is focused on making all the assignments and readings very directly relevant to our studio practices. Our studios are nice and open with tons of natural light from skylights, and there’s a 3D studio, computer labs, and a darkroom just down the stairs and across the courtyard.
